Exploring Environments that Nurture Language and Literacy
One of Southwest Human Development’s literacy experts will teach parents how to create a language-rich environment at home, and how to integrate reading and talking into bedtime, bath time, and outside of the home in locations such as the grocery store or mall. Parents/caregivers will also learn about the importance of routines and predictability in children’s lives. This workshop is designed for children ages birth to five plus a parent/caregiver and includes story time, an art activity, singing and dancing. Each child will receive a new book to take home.
