March 3rd through March 8th - 2015
10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

The Art Studio is open daily from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  Children and their adults are encouraged to drop in and create artwork together!

This is “Arts and Culture Month” at the museum.  We are pleased to offer projects using a variety of media to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and springtime holidays.  In addition, we will emphasize art appreciation with projects related to artist Frida Kahlo, mosaics, and the rose windows of Chartres Cathedral.  All in all, a fun month in the Art Studio!

March 1st through March 8th:  Create “Chalk Silhouettes,” which date back to the colonial time period.  Be inspired by the self-portraits of Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, to draw your own self-portrait.  Make an “African Mask” while learning about the richness of African cultures.
