This trio of turtles, displayed at the Children's Museum of Phoenix, represents Turtle Island, originating from Indigenous belief and creation stories, that the world or North America formed on a turtle's back. Turtles generally represent healing, wisdom, health, safety, longevity, and protection. This collaborative project invited Museum visitors to create a design on hexagonal shapes to resemble a turtle's shell. This work of art serves as a tribute to the original stewards of the land where the Museum is now located, as well as the boundless creativity and imagination of young artists.

The Museum will be open Monday, Oct. 7th, and Monday, Oct. 14th. Swing by to play and learn with us every day from 9:00am to 4:00pm!
Reserve your spot for Special Night of Play, a private play experience for families with children with special needs!
During this Halloween-themed Special Night of Play on October 26th, visitors can trick-or-treat through the Museum's exhibits and discover an array of toys, trinkets, and sweet treats without crowds. Costumes optional. Please come dressed in whatever makes you and your family feel comfortable and ready to explore! 👻🎃
Special Night of Play is free to attend, but reservations are required. RSVP to programs@childmusephx.org and secure your tickets today.
