Emiri Uchida, JOI Coordinator and lead instructor for Kids Club at the Japanese Friendship Garden, brings her background as an elementary school teacher in Japan into every outreach program she leads. Through Kids Club and community workshops, she teaches a wide range of Japanese cultural arts and language, sharing traditions in ways that are welcoming, hands‑on, and accessible. In this program, she will guide participants through Soran Bushi, a spirited fishermen’s folk dance known for its bold movements and celebration of strength and community.
