Celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Month! Join us in the Children’s Garden to explore the traditional “three sisters” planting method—where corn, beans, and squash grow together in harmony, each supporting the others with nutrients and balance. For many Native American communities, these “sisters” are more than crops; they represent sustenance, sustainability, and cultural tradition. Using sensory tools like playdough, pipe cleaners, and wax sticks, children can model how these plants grow and work together, bringing this time-honored practice to life through hands-on play.
