When school is out, camp is in! Camps at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix feature hands-on learning, games and activities designed to cultivate the minds and muscles of children ages 5-8. Each unique camp includes relevant literature exploration, art activities, and plenty of free play within all three floors of the Museum’s imaginative exhibits.

PAWsomePetsGraphic-01July 3rd-7th (SOLD OUT!)
PAWsome Pets

Do you have a pet lover in your family? Join us for a week of pet-inspired art and activities. Campers will explore the world of veterinary science, use a stethoscope, visit with a therapy dog, and experience live animal interactions with dragons, snakes, and some furry friends. Campers will create worry pets and collage art based on their own pets (real or imagined!), make no-bake dog treats while practicing fine motor skills as they measure, scoop, and stir; and will learn about habitats while constructing one of their own.

AmazingAuthors-01July 10th-14th (SOLD OUT!)
Little Authors

Calling all authors! Join us as we journey into a world of imagination, creativity, magic, and possibilities. Campers will explore the museum through fairy tales and have the opportunity to create their own stories with a local children’s author. Campers will make dioramas and utilize scientific reasoning skills, as well as, problem solving and teamwork to help their fairytale friends solve a number of dilemmas. Create a parachute to help Jack escape the giant, build a sturdy house for the three little pigs, help Rapunzel construct a pulley for items to travel to and from her tower, and more!

Culinary Kids

Where in the world does our food come from? During our Culinary Kids camp, campers will have the chance to explore geography and engage in dramatic play as we explore the journey of fruits and vegetables from the farm to our tables. Campers will practice financial literacy and math skills in our Market as they “purchase” ingredients to create their own recipes and nutritional meals and will also plant seeds to take home and practice the culinary arts. Learn how to spiralize veggies and fruits, make dressing, and grind spices with a local cooking expert!

To infinity and beyond! Join us as a space explorer and learn all about the moon. Campers will follow man’s journey to the moon and have the opportunity to explore the geology of Arizona just like the Apollo astronauts explored our moon’s lunar surface. Campers will learn about light and energy, explore the Sun and other stars, create rockets, design a mission patch, learn about the myths, facts, and phases of the moon, and engage their creativity as they make moon rocks and other space-inspired art.
